The surgery is off for now. Instead they are going to put heart stents in which will buy her some more time to grow bigger and stronger. The doctors have decided that this, along with her medication will suffice until then. It was a last minute decision after some final tests. They do this procedure tomorrow. I'm not sure how long it will be after the procedure until they can finally take her home though. The thinking is that within 2-5 months depending on how she is doing, and how strong she is, they will do a complete repair at that time.One step at a time....

when speedy had her surgery, originally they wanted to do it within 2 days of her birth. i had to beg the team to let me have just one xmas with her (her bday is 9 days before) and that exactly was my reasoning behind it. she would have a couple weeks to grow, gain strength and have all my antibodies from the boob juice.
and she came thru all that with no probs.
Jobthingy - I think the time will be good for her. She can get stronger and bigger :) I'm glad Speedy came through so beautifully.
