I thought I'd try something new.
As soon as I did it, the burning started.
It burned. In burned my sensitive skin and made it tingle.
It itched. Man did it itch.
Burning and itching is never a good combination.
Washing helped though, even though I felt the effects for awhile after.
Turns out I'm allergic to the wall glue we were using to do some tiles in the bathroom.

Computer's been down

Fek!
I'm becoming famous for this.
I wash pants/sweaters with Kleenex in the pockets. I forget it's there and I don't really do a thorough check of pockets. I've washed money enough times that I know it will survive, and anything else I don't really care about or it would be out of the pocket.
Want to see me rage? Watch me as I pull out yet another sweater covered in Kleenex feces. They don't pick off easily either. The dryer will take care of most of it, but as luck always seems to have it, it happens in a load where it's all delicates that I hang to dry.
Yeh. That's what I'm complaining about today.
I'll get over it.
I always do.
On the humour side of things, today one of my students says to me "My brother once confused a tampon for a granola bar." Unfortunately, another teacher sent him on his way before he could finish. I really wanted to hear this one out!

Naked, Fuzzy and Purple.
I was sitting here wondering what I should write about. It almost came to me throwing in the towel and heading downstairs to watch a little tv, when it struck me. Recently, I had a memory brought back to the forefront of my mind. I had it buried away deep, hoping never to have to reveal it again. It's not something many people know about me, and not a shining point in my life. However, Redneck Nerdboy seemed to know just what to say to have those flood gates open and have it all come rushing back to me. I'm not even sure how it came to be, but it did. Now I feel comfortable enough to share a bit of my shady past with you. Please don't judge me.
I'll just say it.
I was Grimace.
Yes. Grimace. Grimace as in one of Ronald McDonald's friends. I can't really say what the hell he is (my best guess is an eggplant), but I was it. My job was to dress up as Grimace when McDonalds was having any kind of promotion or fun day. I entertained kids and waved for pictures. Although dressing as Grimace was clearly a highlight, I was officially a "Ronald Ranger" (that's a whole other blog post!).
It gets worse though.
Yes, I dressed up as Grimace. If you knew anymore then that, you wouldn't have let your children near me. You see, the Grimace suit was heavy and full of fuzzy purple hair. It hardly had appropriate breathing holes. It got hot in there. Damn hot. The only way to keep cool while dressed as Grimace was to strip down before I dressed up!
I was naked under there. Okay, most times I was in some kind of undergarment, but a lot less clothed then I think any of my managers wanted to know about (or my boyfriend at the time...now my loving and truly understanding husband..hehe).
So there you have it. A sweaty, naked 16 year old in a Grimace suit.
I know you're all jealous.
I'll just say it.

Ex-squeeze me? Twat did you say?
It's no surprise that whenever Hella comes down, things kinda get a bit out of control. To us it's just the usual good times, but if you are an innocent bystander, things could sound a little raunchy. Most of the time, it is as innocent and pure as the driven snow. To prove it, here are a few quotes from our weekend together.
1. "I can't go commando. My glands are over active."
2. "Okay...this is sticky."
3. "I tried it already! I like the way it feels!"
4. "It's not like there is shit on the butt plugs."
5. "It's not as tight as it use to be."
6. "Can I taste your cookie?"
7. "Fucking ignorant bitch. I'm gonna kick her ass!"...."I have your back Sassy"
8. "Holy shit. That's a huge pile of pyuck."
Alright...some may need a little further explanation.
Number 1 speaks for itself.
Number 2 was when we decided to actually jot some of these jems down, I needed a pen. It was sticky.
3 - was a "gator gate latch." It was spring loaded and we were entertaining ourselves with it.
4 - Long story short. We saw a seedy (and friggen dirrrrty) sex toy shop and decided to go in.
5 - We were talking about Hella's breaks. Swear to god!
6 - Mmmm chocolate chip M&M cookies....
7 - Some stupid bitch at the concert was trying to shove her fat ass though the crowd. We were crammed together and she thought she could push past me like an ignorant twat. She was wrong.
8 - Leaving the concert, after watching two guys piss all over a wall, we almost stepped in the hugest pile of "pyuck" known to man.
On a side note the TOOL concert was effing amazing! It down poured during most of the concert, but it didn't matter. It was one of those warm rains. No wind. We waited over 10 years for this so nothing could dampen the evening. By the end we were drenched to the bone but couldn't have been happier. They played a good mix of their 'old' songs and songs off their new album. Favourites such as Schism, 46 & 2, Stinkfist, and Lateralis weren't left out. Jambi (one of my current faves) sounded awesome live as did Rosetta stoned. They played almost all of the new album. We were slightly disappointed that they didn't play Sober or Prison Sex, but we can't really complain too much since they played over 2 hours. The perfect end to a summer of concerts.

You did what?!?!
If anyone cares, the school bbq went well last night. Read: I managed not to swear or show my demented side to any parents...enough to scare them away anyway. Once I get started, I really don't mind talking so much to the parents. It's just the thought of being there alll day and evening. I didn't get home until after 10pm and when I arrived this morning it didn't really feel like I had left. Hadn't I just left this building?
I have one kid (the worried monkey that called his dad an 'uneducated bum' because he swears) who stayed with me for the duration of the evening. His dad chatted with me then left. Nowhere to be found. Gone! His mom was in the foyer selling shirts as she is on the parent council. I don't recall being paid to babysit. I did however put him to work (sadly, he loved this. Poor kid will learn.) He was going to wash my boards for me. This conversation took place:
Sassy: Why don't you wash the boards for me?
E: Okay!!
E proceeds to the sink and fills up a bucket...right to the brim!
Sassy: Honey, that's a little full. When you put the sponge in, it will overflow onto the desk. Why don't you empty some of it?
E: ummm Okay.
He heads to the sink and I walk towards my desk. There is no other adult in the room at this time...a brief lull in the crowds eager to talk to me (*rolls eyes*). Suddenly I hear:
E: Ms. Sass, I took a big dump in the sink!
I turned, eyes wide open, already laughing. I had to know if he was being rude or just innocent. Turns out he had no idea why what he said was so funny to me. He just wanted to let me know he dumped half the water out.
I'm still laughing.
Maybe I need to grow up.
This kid kills me.
At this rate, I'll need to wear depends to work.

Weenie Roast Night
Sadly, it's not some sick and demented genital misfortune night tonight. It's the school's annual open house and 'meet the teacher' bbq night. I'll be at the school until after 8:30, trying to be innocent and polite and not drop any cuss words in front of parents. It's a long time for me to act normal, so when I get home I'll be pooped.
Therefore no HNT this week. :-(
Catch you later.

Eat my dust punk!
So I was coming home the other day. I pulled up to a red light. Guess what was stopped right beside me on the line?
A bloody Maserati!
These things are rare in the ghetto that I was running through (although strangely enough it is the second one I have seen this week). The new 2006 Maserati Exec. GT boasts 4.2L V8, 32 Valve 395 hp yummy goodness. A wicked set of wheels...or as the hood rats say "A sweet ride."
So I did what any self respecting Dodge Neon driver would do.
I revved my mighty 4 cylinder engine and glanced at the dude behind the wheel. Look at him all smooth and sexy in his Armani suit. Screw you buddy. Me and my paint splattered cardigan and penny loafers will take you any day. You are soooo going down.
I nodded and waited for the light to turn green. Revving my motor, one foot on the brake, one on the gas, poised and ready to go. The hamsters under my hood ready for the challenge, strapping on their racing goggles and driving gloves. Seconds felt like minutes. Minutes like hours. Finally: Green!
I peeled off the line, smashing the pedal to the floor sending my silver bullet jetting thru the intersection at speeds only marveled by those who drive an Echo or a Geo Metro (props to you by the way). I quickly passed Mr. Masarati and left him in my smoke. I signaled and merged into his lane. I won. I beat the Masarati off the line. Sucker!
Of course he didn't know we were racing, and will probably send me the detailing bill for all the gravel I spun up at his car.....

Holy Crapper-Jacks Batman!!
We Canadians love our Tim Hortons (from here on out referred to as "Timmy's" like all the cool kids do k?). We make no bones about it. You can hardly go 2km without hitting a Timmy's.
Imagine my shock when I see a notice at a local Timmy's. It seems that at one of the locations a sick, demented, deranged lunatic chick has caused some upset (to say the least). She apparently has AIDS and has been pricking herself to make her bleed and dripping it into the coffee. I KNOW!!
Insane.
Know they are recommending that all patrons of this location get an AIDS test. You see, this location that this has happened to is on the main street of the town I work in and came from. It also happens to be the location I used to frequent (thank god not any time recently since I now hang with 'my peeps' in the north end) and that my brothers still frequent. Can a person really get AIDS this way? Scary thought.
So that's what's new in my neck of the woods.

I'm Alive...
What a slacker.
What a blog slacker that is.
Thanks to Exile and Shora, who were the only ones who showed any kind of concern as to where I was. This will reflect greatly in your Christmas gifts.
I'm kidding.
I wish I was off doing something exciting..but I was building a fence and 'horsen' around at the barn's fall fun day for the kids. It didn't actually feel like a weekend since we were up early and working, and then Sunday was spent travelling and meeting the brother in law's new girlfriend. Now it's back to the regular work week.
It started off great. Pffft.
My class is a bunch of cuss monkeys.
They were dropping the word "shit" like it was going out of style. It started at lunch with the teacher on duty. She tells me of an incident and I thought that was the end of it. Then over the rest of the afternoon, I heard that damn word several times, until finally I snapped. The whole class was getting a lecture (I'm famous for shit that comes outta my mouth when I lecture by the way).
The jist of this lecture (judge me if you want) was that we know better words then to use cuss words, it makes us sound uneducated and silly when we swear, and I expect better of them. I'm disappointed that I have to tell them not to use language like this and "is that what you really want to be doing when Jesus comes back?" And the next person who swears will be calling their parents to tell them the kind of language they have been using....end of lecture.
20 minutes later and we are happily working on filling out our planners when (an insanely bright and chatty) student comes to my desk. He flops his hands down to his side and sighs "well I guess my father is just an uneducated bum." This is the kind of kid that would go home and say "guess what? Mrs. S says you are uneducated". I started to quickly try to get him to see what I really meant, and to re-iterate that his father was indeed a very educated man. I tell him that we all swear once and awhile when we are really angry or upset, which doesn't make it right, but it happens. I say that it's just extra bad if someone uses a swear word every other word in a sentence. He says, "Ohh that's my dad. He says F-this and F-that when my brother pisses him off and then he swears at my mom". Yup. I gave up. I let him return to his desk. We'll see what he says. I can't wait! LOL
Oh yes. And before anyone says it. I know that lecture makes me a total hypocrite. I swear like a trucker. So maybe I sound uneducated. I don't care. Fuck you.
Have a good one! Tonight's the first pre-season game of the Leafs...they are so going to kick Buffalo's ass.
A girl can hope.

HNT
Another pic from Jamaica...
While stumbling along the beach I noticed this lifeguard chair. What a sham that there would be no lifeguard at night. What about the night swimmers? Are they not entitled to a little safety too? What if someone encountered a stingray? or needed the use of my floatation devices? I decided to take matters into my own hands. However, I was in my dinner clothes and I wasn't about to save any lives wearing them, so I decided to strip down. Besides, my whiter than white skin could act as some kind of reflection giving the swimmers some light (or atleast something to swim towards if disoriented). The things I do for my people.
Funny. There were a few more people on the beach that night....

Big Gay Bear Hugs
Why do some (most) guys have an issue with hugging another guy?
I see what happens. One guy who is comfortable with hugging (and no doubt his sexuality) pulls in the other after a brief handshake. If the other guy isn't comfortable he tenses up and puts his hands up as if to say "I'm not the homo here." Other guys will go in for a quick semi-hug which is more of a shoulder knock and a slap on the back. I wonder if they are scared that when they hug, the other guy will feel his package against his leg and get the wrong idea, and the next moment, he'll find himself with his pants around his ankles and a cock up his ass? Ridiculous I know, but I wonder if that's what's going through their mind? Will I look gay if I hug another man? Get over yourselves. Really.
We girls usually don't have a problem. We'll hug anyone unless they smell like shit. Heck, I'll even hug my enemy. Of course once I have her in my lock I'll put her into a full nelson and have my homegirls kick her in the clit...but that's another issue.
So can men really hug without thinking they are gay, or having others think they are gay?

BOW WOW!! Is that a "wiener" dog?!
Holy Hannah!
I love Ikea. Yeah, their furniture is cool (most of it anyway), and their commercials tend to kick a bit of ass (Remember, I'm a sucker for accents. Even if it is this annoying Swedish man). I shop there enough to get their catalogue each year. I'm sure you just have to shop their once and they will put you on the mailing list, but whatever. I look forward to it. It's like the Sears Wish Book or the Canadian Tire Catalogue! Endless hours of fun.
Said Ikea catalogue arrived a few weeks ago and I began to flip through the pages. However, I didn't get very far (the inside cover infact) before I noticed something was askew. Perhaps it's my love of animals or my intense craving for a Bratwurst, but something popped out (pardon the wee pun) at me right away. Take a look:

Notice anything about Rover?! Look at him! He's laying there thinking "Hey baby! Bend over and let Rover take over!". He could put some men to shame. If you can't see it, then I'm not pointing it out folks!
Like I said. I love Ikea. Endless hours of fun.
Side note: Now that I know you actually read this...word up to my homegirl K! He he.

I'm and "auntie" again!
Meet Roman Luccus!!

This is my newest "nephew". He makes number 3! I ranted and raved about his coming awhile back and I won't get into it again, because he is here and ready to be spoiled! Gorgeous he is.
Here are my two other favourite boys:
Domanick. This one is special to me, and those close to me know why. He's incredible and awesome and such a sweet boy. He's also the big brother to Roman. Love him to bits I do!

William. Hella's boy. I'm lucky she still lets me near him. I could just squish him he's so yummy. He has the best sense of humour and the greatest elbows (you have to see them!). He's absolutely brilliant and a laugh that's contagious!
Am I not the luckiest "auntie" around?

I didn't forget my Haikus!

Friday here atlast
1 week feels like a century
To have my soul sucked
Catching up on sleep
Big blue bags under my eyes
Not a tea bagging!
The fair is in town
Yay demolition derby

Frig. Christ on a Bike!
Holy Crap! I didn't register that it was HNT today! Shame on me! Thank you to Exile who pointed out that I'd forgotten....and to insist that since I missed it I should partake in a "Full Frontal Friday"..lovely, but I think I'll pass on this one this week. I'm suffering from swoobs right now (sweaty boobs folks). I totally crashed early last night and slept right until my alarm. Today I've been walking around in a daze though. Maybe I got too much sleep? I swear I will get back into the routine of this soon. It just takes me a few days to have my soul sucked from me and re-learn how to cope. I promise to do better from now on. If not, I am willing to be spanked repeatedly..hard.
On a side note, since it seems to be a topic of discussion around the kids, I'll say my piece on the death of Steve Irwin (The Crocodile Hunter). It really is sad and ironic at the same time. How this man could, for so long, interact with some of the most vicious and poisonous creatures of the world, and not get hurt is beyond me. Yet, while swimming near a sting ray (whose sting is not usually fatal, just friggen painful) gets stung and dies instantly. Blows my mind. I know people have different views on him, but really, he loved all animals and critters alike and did great things to educate people about them. He was an environmentalist and tried to do good for the animal kingdom. He could have kept his millions but gave a lot of it back into programs for research and education. Not everyone liked him, and not everyone agreed with some of the things he did. Not everyone is perfect. What saddens me is that he has left behind 2 small children. It breaks my heart because I have an idea of what his daughter is feeling. I was the same age when my dad passed on. That's the real heartbreaker. Sure he did great things for animals, but he was doing greater things by raising his kids, and he wasn't done with that job yet. My prayers are with his family.
Also, you can rest assure that I won't be snorkeling again any time soon!

One day down.....
Well, I survived. We all did.
School was back in today. I forget how exciting, yet nerve racking the first day is for teachers and students alike. I love those first moments in the class when they are still a bit "shell shocked" and staring up at you. Unfortunately, it doesn't last long and we find our groove as a class pretty quickly. I know all my students from their classes last year and already know what to expect (and not expect) from many of them. After the group that was in grade 3 last year, any group will be a cake walk if you ask me. I forget how 'little' they are in the beginning of the year and how far along I have to bring them. Each September it's like starting over again. Such simple concepts I take for granted because my students left automatically knowing to do certain things, yet this new batch don't have a clue. I had quite a few laughs today at the expense of a few of them (after the fact of course!). One student in particular I have a feeling will be the subject of many a blog because he is so innocently comical!
I wish I had the energy to write more, or to share a little more of the humor in my day, however I am SOOOO tired. I am only just sitting down now after a full day at work, then at the barn. I need to sleep!
On a side note, Hella: I'm so proud of your boy for going to school for the first time and even more proud of you for letting go of him. I'm sending you big hugs because I know just how big of a step this was for the two of you! Love you both with all my heart!!

This is getting out of control....
Bloody Hell. Word must have spread.
It's like fucking Club Med for animals around here.
Welcome family of gophers to my backyard. Your days are numbered too.

Get your stank ass out!!!!!!!
I left to walk the dog this morning, and instead of prancing down the steps and across the lawn, he was immediately preoccupied. He had is nose wedged in by the steps and his fur was up. When I got a closer look I realized it looked as if some kind of animal had burrowed his way in there. There also happens to be a larger hole in my garden leading to under the steps. It may not be much of a garden, but dammit, it's mine and it's been dug up! The smell coming from under the steps either A) indicated that whatever has crawled in there, did so to die and rot, or b) it's a skunk. I'm going with the second.
Now I have to call some friggen animal control person to come and get it, because I don't have half a clue how to get rid of a skunk! I'm afraid that one of us will get sprayed or that it will have babies and relatives from far and wide will be popping by to visit it.
Why of all the houses, did it choose this one? The one with frequent traffic out the front door and a large dog? Clearly not a bright animal. Hmmm, there goes one worry, it won't have babies, it's probably male.
Any suggestions??
