Yippee!! Time to have a life!
More time for Mason.
Yup, even more time for Blogging!
I'm excited. Lots of great things have been happening in this little ol' world of mine. Great new friends, a new niece who is almost here (counting down the days!), and my brother is getting married! I'm so excited. I'm their official wedding planner (God help them..but they value my ideas and creativity...not to mention my stellar planning and organization skills). You may have to put up with endless pictures of my niece, and wedding plan ideas and input..but at least it's something right?
I'm just going to say that sometimes people come into your life for reasons and they impact you in some way, help you grow and learn who you are, etc etc etc (all the gobbly goop). Sometimes they stay and sometimes they leave. I firmly believe that if for some reason someone leaves your life in some manner, another person enters when you need them most, even if it's on a completely different level or relationship. It's hard to explain, but I feel connected to this "new" friend and we've been having a blast for the last 7 months...Mr. Sass and I are trying to convince her to be our wife (my first, his second..lol). Anyway, my guts have never hurt so much from laughing. I just wanted to give a good ol' shout out to her and say that I appreciate her friendship. Bring on the unicycle!
What would be a blog without a picture or two of my little man? Growing like a weed...

What can I say?
My heart hasn't been in it. Besides, how does one top "suck my jiz hole fag?"
School is almost out. 10 more teaching days and then I can be home all summer with my precious boy. I can't wait. July 9th I'll be an Auntie when my new niece is born. I'm looking forward to that. Going away to the cottage...lots of good things.
So yeah..just thought I'd actually post something. Didn't say it would be useful now did I?
ALTHOUGH..come to think of it, I saw the best license plate the other day (okay...like a month ago) and wished beyond anything that I had my camera, but alas I did not. I'm hoping that because I live in a small town, I'll see it again and have my camera.
It read: tih2200 (at least I think those were the letters/numbers) The point is I thought nothing of it until I was backing up and looked in my mirror and saw very clearly what looked like "OOSSHIT!"
Brilliant. Fucking brilliant.

Fun with Phonics returns....
Holy crap.
Time just flies by.
I'm awaiting the end of the school year here...27 more teaching days!! Woot woot!! Then it's the summer.
Right now we are awaiting the birth of one of my best friend's baby. Any day now. I can't wait to have another little baby to cuddle and spoil!
So yeah...here's another attempt at our fridge phonics...hehe
No disrespect meant.

Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies out there :)
My little man slept in this morning, which was a nice little surprise! However, by 9:00, I was laughing to myself. I had Baby Sass on my hip, the laundry in full swing, and was vacuuming up a storm as Mr. Sass slept. Brilliant eh? Meh..just another day in the Sass household. I didn't mind at all. I've gotten spoiled already and I love my "job" as mommy around here. I wish I could have at least 3 more running around.
I hope all you mommy bloggers out there have a wonderful day. I'm off to read outside!

Blame the Government
That's my new line around here. That and "fucking government".
Why you ask?
I owe. A lot.
It seems that while I was on maternity leave last year some douche in the EI office didn't take enough taxes off and so now I have to pay them back. Don't get me wrong though. I know how lucky I am to have 1 year of paid mat leave. BUT what I earned had us living below the poverty line and had us dipping in to our savings quite often, to make ends meet. Combine that with Mr. Sass' rough go at work and we are thankful that we came out and are on the up and up. It wasn't MY mistake. Why doesn't this chimp pay for his/her mistake?
We had plans. Now I have payment plans.
We wanted to get a new shed for all Baby Sass' outdoor toys and our patio furniture. That has to wait. "why honey?" Blame the government.
Dog needs a "dog run"...can't afford it now. Blame the government.
Was going to go to Ireland. Fucking Government.
We need to think about getting another newer car. Now this one will have to last a little longer and we pray it holds up. Why? Fucking government.
I was going to save a whole shitload of money by not paying for childcare this summer. Now it all has to go to the government. Fucking Government.
Everything that goes wrong is now the government's fault. It may be juvenile, but it makes me feel better to cuss them out regularly. So join me: FUCKING GOVERNMENT.

I needed some change...
So I bit the bullet.
I cut it all off.
No big deal.
It's only hair.
But I really liked my long hair.
The thing is, it's always been the same. So with a little convincing, I chopped it off. I don't know what it is though: I equate long hair with sexiness. I feel like a kid with short hair. Yet, I love shorter hair on other women, and think they look sexy, just not me. I feel like I'm 12. I won't deny that it's much, much easier now, especially since my hair is naturally very curly. Anyhoo, you be the judge:
You can't really tell in the picture but it's more of a graduated bob. Now I need to get my son a haircut!!

If this isn't foul...I don't know what is
Dude.
Sick, foul, nasty, insane...I don't know what the hell you want to call this, but it's just plain ol' DISGUSTING.
I had Baby Sass running around nude this evening because he has a pretty nasty diaper rash and I wanted him to air out. Sure, he's peed on a few things (stairs, my nightstand, the carpet...) but all is good. He loves being nude. The other day he actually let out a huge fart and when we looked down, he had left a good ol' pile of crap on the tile (thank god it was the tile!). Anyhoo...
He's nudin' around this evening, and I'm snapping a picture or two (his bum is beyond cute!) and I come around the table and notice there is a loaf on the floor. A loaf and a half to be exact. He crapped on the floor (again, thank god it was the tile). That isn't the nasty part though.
You know what is?!
The dog came by and ate the fucking turd.
Oh yes he did. He gobbled up that piece and a half of shit like we never feed the poor buggar and then licked the floor clean after.
Fuck me!
Really?! Yes. This is my reality. My dog ate my son's shit.
What is a girl to do?
....well I told Cooper to go give Mr. Sass a big ol' kiss when he came in from work for one thing...
That's a start.
If your stomach is turning like mine was, then here's a little picture to put a smile on your face:

P.S. You see the dog's snout in the bottom right corner? He's still licking his chops from his fecal feast.....I guess those of you who saw this post before I cropped it can attest to it being there. Thatgirl is right..too many perverts out there ;)

It's not so bad...
Thank you to everyone for coming by to wish me a happy 30th birthday. It was so nice to keep getting messages from you wishing me well!!
Thanks for the birthday shout-outs from Mackey and Sage. I quite like the "29 and tax" and the "second anniversary of 29"...not to mention my spanks and big squishy boobie hugs!!
I've been partying it up quite hard. In fact I have woke up in different homes a couple nights, a ditch one night and fucked if I can remember what the hell happened. I haven't been to work in days and am nursing one hell of a hangover.
Right.
Truth? I've been passed out on the couch every night by 9. HA! Living the high life eh? It's been crazy busy at work. I've got a new partner in crime there and man..I though I was wacked?!?! I think I'm in love. Mr. Sass and I are trying to convince her to be our second wife (well my first wife, his second). I have even more of a blast at school...
Anyhoo..thanks for the well wishes.
Oh..did you know that a swan is the only bird with a penis??? Neither did I! I am kind of wondering how the unfortunate ones mate though.

Last night Mr. Sass and I were watching a documentary on whales. I know, I know, we live a wild life folks. Not everyone can be just like us. You'll have to be content with being jealous.
Anyhoo...they were talking about the songs of humpback whales. Out of nowhere he starts talking "whale" to me (think Dory in Finding Nemo). It cracked me up. Thus started a whole evening of talking whale. Do you know how long it takes to say "will you make some tea?". Jesus H. Christ I think one simple conversation lasted 2 hours. Dedication or insanity?
Like I said, wild life people. Wild life.
P.S. For anyone interested, they didn't show any large whale pene, which is why I was really watching....

Sad
My grandfather passed away this morning at about 5 am. Mom called this morning to let me know. I'm so sad, but at least I got a chance to see him before he passed, and tell him I love him. There is comfort in that.
My heart aches and it's been a week from hell. My computer is fucked up so I'm MIA for a bit. Just wanted to let you know that I appreciate all the prayers and emails and such.
Rest in Peace Grandfather.

Sometimes we just don't need the details....
One of the students in the other class was heard saying the following at lunch today:
"I saw my mommy laying on her back and my daddy was on top of her. He was doing push-ups. My mommy kept saying 'oh mamasita!' I took a picture."
I really hope you didn't kid. But if you did....I think it would make great show and tell.
One of my students (grade 2) asked me, "do you want to know a secret?"
I hate questions like that..but of course I said "sure"
"I'm wearing a bra today (she grabs her not-even-close-to-being-developed chest) and it itches like mad!!"
That's the price of being a woman my friend.

Grand Pappy Update
We went to see my grandfather on the weekend. Thank you for all your kind words, happy thoughts and prayers. He is doing a little better, but not entirely well. He was at least sitting up when we came in, but really wanted to be in bed. He hadn't eaten lunch nor dinner. He's really loosing weight (that he doesn't have to loose) these days. Skin and bones. He smiled at Mason and remembered Mr. Sass but wasn't interested in talking. He kept muttering "what am I suppose to do?" I'm not really sure what that was about. Then he told me I needed to take Mason for a walk...which we decided it meant all three of us, so he could talk to my mom alone. He won't complain or be nasty in front of us. Not that he was nasty to my mom, but he was irritated for sure. He was also very confused. He asked my mom if she had seen Ted Kennedy lately and what he was wearing. When we were leaving I gave him a kiss and he said "Happy New Year!". It's hard not to giggle, but at the same time, it breaks my heart. We just go along with what he says. All the research says to do that :)
So that is where we are right now.
Thanks again.

I know I haven't been around a lot lately, and I really have no good excuse. Yet, here I am, and I'm going to ask you for something...if anyone is still around that is.
My grandfather is not well at all. He has pneumonia. He's on oxygen. The family has been called and although the nurses and doctors say he's not dieing, his sisters think he is. He is unable to get up and walk around, and is breathing very shallow. He keeps mumbling that he wants to go home. He has someone with him 24/7 whether it be a nurse of family, so he's not alone, but I am just sick to my stomach. I hate this. I really hope my great aunts are wrong.
Mason and I are going tomorrow afternoon to see him and bring him Mason's latest pictures.
Prayers please?

A sea of snot...
It's almost pointless to post I think. I don't really have anything great to say. Maybe it's because work has been busy, Mr. Sass is working his ass off and that leaves me with extra housework and less time to do things that I enjoy. We all do what we can and I love that he's willing to do anything for his family (no, he's not stripping). Mason is growing so quickly and learning so many new things it's remarkable. He's talking more and more and does the sweetest little things. I'm going to put this out on the table now though: I want another. Realllly badly. If you know our story, then I ask for your prayers or positive thoughts, heck..even a little baby dust. That said, we are also starting the journey to adopt. We're just at the educating ourselves about the whole process part and taking baby steps...but you have to start somewhere. I know it will be a slow and long process, but heck we can still try in the mean time right? We just love Mason so much and really want to give him a brother or sister :)
We've also been battling colds. Mr. Sass and Mason being the hardest hit. I swear Mason handles it better than Mr. Sass though. Just when the damn cold seems to be letting up and the sea of snot is drying up, it hits again, this time with a cough to boot. Heaven help me.
So that's it. I really must try to post more. I've been trying to catch up and follow along...if I havn't been by, then I will be soon.
Hugs and kisses to all the pink parts...

Fun with Phonics Part 2
Things have been a little hectic around here. With business a little slow (that's a complete understatement) for Mr. Sass, he's had to go out and get a second job so that we can continue to make ends meet. I stress large about money. I can't help it.
With Mr. Sass gone a lot of the time, it leaves me to take care of everything around the house and spend as much time with Mason as possible. Sadly, that doesn't leave a lot of time for the computer or anything else for that matter.
That said, we continue to leave little messages for each other with the fridge phonics. The other morning I came in to the kitchen to see this:
I don't even want to know....

6th Picture
Ms. Mackey tagged me.
Here are the rules:
Here are the rules:
6th Picture Meme!
1.Go to your Picture Folder on your computer or wherever you store your pictures.
2.Go to the 6th Folder, then pick the 6th picture in that folder.
3.Post that picture on your blog and the story that goes along with the picture.
4.Tag 6 other peoples that you know or don’t know to do the same thing and leave a comment on their blog or an e-mail letting them know you chose them.

This picture was taken at the end of August in the Calgary airport. We were moving on to BC to spent some time with Mr. Sass' family. We were in Alberta visiting my brother and sister in law. I also got to meet Mackey! It was such an awesome trip, but I'm still kicking myself for not spending more time there. I really loved AB. A LOT. Maybe a little too much! Anyway, I do love this picture because it has my two men in it. My two favourite men. My husband, who clearly loves his boy and is so in awe of him. It's written all over his face. He loves being a daddy and is one hell of a daddy! He'd do anything for Mason. He beams whenever he sees him. Mason beams at the sight of his daddy! Mason was exhausted and teething, but was in great spirits as usual. He was charming the people in the airport. I look at this picture and it feels like yesterday that it was taken. He's grown so much!
So...as for tagging, I will tag the first 6 people who want to play. Mainly because I'm too lazy to name people and go and tell them. Forgive me!

Do I let the day go by without mentioning something? Probably not.
It's a monumental day for our friends south of us. Monumental for people around the world to witness. We had the tv on all day for the older classes to watch the Presidential inauguration. My grade 2's are really too young, but I brought them down to see the actual swearing in of President Obama. It was pretty amazing. I had chills at some points in his speech. It's uplifting to see people so motivated and eager to be involved. It's uplifting to think that perhaps this is the man that can ispire change. Change that will impact all of us.
I'm not naive though. I'm worried people are too carried away at the "Romanticism" of this election and all the hoopla. Do they really understand politics? I'm no expert but I do understand one thing. Change takes time. I think President Obama WILL make amazing changes, but I think we'll see many of these changes in a second term in office. I think some people misunderstand process and think that it can happen "overnight" and that because the "President says so," it will happen. Sadly, there are committees and sub-committees to deal with....
You know, maybe I'll stop rambling. Enjoy the moment. I'm proud of President Obama, I'm optimistic even, however I don't want to get carried away in the romanticism of it all.
