Another weekend passed. I can say that the weather was pretty good during the day and we had a good time. I think Hella and I were looking for a little more action then what we found, but we still managed to have some fun. We managed to crash my mother's party (is it ever really crashing when your the daughter though?) and were entertained with my mom, my aunts and my mom's cougar friend. My mom kept the 'bar' well stocked which was a blessing in the 30 plus degree heat. You really only have to spend a few minutes with my family to be considered part of it, and they always prove to be fun, as long as you're not offended easily by crass language and jokes. However, I think my mom would want me to say that we can be quite civilized too, and don't always have to be crass. Right mom. This is just way more fun. We also managed to take some fun pictures. Stay tuned for my return to HNT avec un guest appearance with mon amie!
The good news is that I saw 2 movies that I probably should have seen long ago. Slowly my list of "holy crap, you haven't seen that? What's the matter with you?" movies will get smaller. Today, I can cross off two. Hella bought Dracula and insisted that we watch it in the afternoon so as to increase the chance that I will stay awake. In the checkout line she says to me (or so I thought I she said) "Gary Coleman makes and amazing Dracula." I was a little shocked, but went with it. We went home and popped in the movie. I have to say it wasn't until about 45 minutes in that I clued in. She said Gary Oldman, not Gary Coleman! I was waiting for some little black dracula to pop out saying "whatchu talkin about Mina?"
I did however, quite enjoy the movie. There is something very erotic and sexy about vampires that I loooove. I can't quite explain it, but I'm fascinated by it.
I also stayed awake to watch Waiting, which was impressive given the amount of Vex in my system. Hella argued that movie should be bumped to the top of my list after my post about waitressing. Very funny movie. It was made even more funnier because I get it. I totally get what they meant and felt. Except I don't get the big furry muff in the end. I don't get that. Get that chicky a razor!
I must say, even after a relaxing long weekend, I think I need a nap! Hope my Canadian chums had a good Canada Day and my American friends have a lovely Fourth of July. If anything big is going on, you know where to find me!
